    What is SVH:

    Threat Classification: PUP/adware

SVH is another dubious and ad-supported application, that claims to improve user’s computer exprience, but after closer review our security researchers warned us, that the SVH is used to deliver intrusive ads, injected on almost every web page you visit. Furthermore, it is distributed by various suspicious software bundles! Often the victims don’t know how did the SVH came on their machines!? These software bundles could distribute other suspicious and dangerous stuff like modified installers, that could recommend & install various  free software products including 3rd party toolbars, video codecs, anti-virus products etc. You should be very careful, because SVH uses this stealth (silent) installation procedure to get on your computer and to start annoying you by showing intrusive ads on almost all web pages you visit, collects private browsing data from your computer as well as other private and even financial information. If you have SVH installed on your computer, it is very likely that your screen starts filling with unwanted & very annoying ads, banners pop-up windows or other 3rd party advertisements. SVH has been classified as a PUP by the majority of the security experts on the Internet, mainly because of the distribution method it uses – “software bundling” and because of its suspicious behavior on the user’s computer. SVH uses a malicious browser extension, that is capable of injecting ads into almost every webpage you visit, which could lead to modifying the web page design and content – especially regarding the search results by the major web search engines! Once installed, the SVH quickly modifies windows registry database and browser’s settings, making the recovery even harder. If you start getting various web ads, claiming that they are – “By SVH”“Ads by SVH”, “SVH Ads”, “Powered by SVH”, “Brought by SVH” or “Brought to you by SVH” – you should consider your computer infected. SVH appears to work with all the well-known browsers like Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. [Read More…]
