How to remove TypingFanatic Toolbar
What is TypingFanatic Toolbar:
Threat Classification: Browser Hijacker/PUP/Adware
TypingFanatic or TypingFanatic Toolbar is an adware application, developed by MindSpark Interactive Network Inc., and is classified as a browser hijacker, however it could also be classified as a PUP. Initially the TypingFanatic Toolbar seems to be an useful product – it should help you improve your keyboard typing skills, basically it should learn you type faster by taking online courses and complete typing tests, it should also show your typing speed – words per minute. Although all these things might sound perfect and useful, we strongly advise all our customers to avoid installing this software on their computers. This toolbar will start loading all kinds of web banners, coupons, ads, links, video ads etc. Furthermore, the TypingFanatic toolbar will modify browsers settings, making the recovery even harder, then it changes the default search engine to Ask.com and the default home page to int.search.tb.ask.com. The toolbar application will start collecting all kinds of private information like visited web addresses, visited ip addresses, search history, web browse history etc – this information collection will later be sold or shared with other 3rd party companies (marketing agencies). The browser hijacker will attach itself to every popular web browser on the victim’s PC, to compromise the browser`s settings such as the home page and the default search engine. When the user performs a search, it will be redirected to Trovi.com. The search results should be considered compromised – usually they are loaded with SPAM and 3rd party advertising.
Usually, TypingFanatic Toolbar comes packed with other free software products and is being installed by default, when the user accepts the EULA, while performing an express/recommended installation of that software. The possible distribution of the TypingFanatic Toolbar varies but is not limited to – installing third-party toolbars, free software products, downloading e-mail attachments, clicking on ads or banners etc..
TypingFanatic Toolbar will fill your browser screen with unwanted advertising, trying to attract more users to the advertised web pages and generate income from the online traffic. TypingFanatic Toolbar may keep track of your browsing activity and steal valuable information as login credentials, financial information and even bank accounts data. This information might be sent to third-party companies, which might used it for marketing purposes or for something else. That’s why this infection should not be left unattended, and needs to be terminated immediately, as it seems to be a serious threat to your online security.
!!! Please note that these kinds of infections could potentially bring up other malware to your computer and even cause loss of data. We strongly recommend you to not underestimate such threats.
