What is Mycalendarplanner Toolbar:

Threat Classification: PUP/Browser Hijacker

Mycalendarplanner Toolbar or just Mycalendarplanner is an application developed by Mindspark Interactive Network (MyWay) company and is considered a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) and/or a browser hijacker by the majority of the reputable security researchers around the world. After performing a thorough inspection, our security experts classified the Mycalendarplanner Toolbar as a bad toolbar, browser hijacker and a PUP. Currently the software bundles are the most common and widely used method for malware distribution. The MyCalendarPlanner Toolbar could be downloaded from the http://www.Mycalendarplanner.com, however it is distributed by some websites, in suspicious software bundles, which could install much more then just this toolbarOnce the MyCalendarPlanner Toolbar is installed on the victim’s computer, the bad toolbar will first try to change browsers settings & windows registry, making the recovery much harder. It will also change the default search engine to MyWay.com and the default new tab home page to http://hp.myway.com. The browser hijacker will attach itself to every popular and widely used web browser on the victim’s PC, and will compromise the browser`s settings such as the home page and the default search engine. So when next time the user performs a web search, it will be redirected to //hp.myway.com/. Our advise is to consider the search results compromised and to get rid of the hp.myway.com web search as soon as possible.

Usually, Mycalendarplanner Toolbar comes packed with other free software products and is being installed by default when the user accepts the EULA while performing an express/recommended installation of that software. The possible distribution of the Mycalendarplanner Toolbar varies but is not limited to – installing third-party toolbars, free software products, downloading e-mail attachments, clicking on ads or banners etc..

Mycalendarplanner Toolbar will fill your browser screen with unwanted advertising, trying to attract more users to the advertised web pages and generate income from the online traffic. Mycalendarplanner Toolbar may keep track of your browsing activity and steal valuable information as login credentials, financial information and even bank accounts data. This information might be sent to third-party companies, which might used it for marketing purposes or for something else. That’s why this infection should not be left unattended, and needs to be terminated immediately, as it seems to be a serious threat to your online security.

!!! Please note that these kinds of infections could potentially bring up other malware to your computer and even cause loss of data. We strongly recommend you to not underestimate such threats.
