How to remove HappySale Adware
What is HappySale:
Threat Classification: PUP/adware
HappySale or Ads by HappySale is a malicious browser add-on, is classified as an adware and a PUP by our security experts. This adware infiltrates systems without owner’s consent by hiding in software bundles. Once activated, the infection starts injecting and displaying various ads on almost every web page you visit, which alters the original appearance of the web page. It is also considered a PUP (potentially unwanted program) and an adware, mainly because of the intrusive web ads it displays and because of its dubious distribution method “bundling“. If your browser starts showing “Ads by HappySale”, “HappySale Ads”, “By HappySale”, “HappySale” or “Brought to you by HappySale”, you should consider your computer infected. The PUP is capable of regenerating over and over again, making the normal removal and uninstall procedure useless. It is known that it works just fine with all well-known browsers like Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.
Generally, users that have it installed on their systems might see different pop-ups, banners, search suggestions, sponsored link advertisements displayed on popular pages. The search results could also being altered, displaying information loaded with spam and third-party advertising.
HappySale is usually bundled with other free software products and is being installed by default, when the user accepts the EULA, while performing an express/recommended installation of that software. The possible distribution of HappySale varies but is not limited to – installing third-party toolbars, free software products, downloading e-mail attachments, clicking on ads or banners etc..
