How to remove OffersByContext Ads
What is OffersByContext:
Threat Classification: Adware/PUP
Recently, we’ve received a lot of emails from various users, that experienced issues with their systems and more specific – their computers started showing many highly irritating Ads by OffersByContext, on almost every web page they visit. Often the web browser starts redirecting users while browsing, opens various pop-up ads or pop-unders, which are making the web browsing almost impossible. After a closer review, our malware experts concluded that all these web ads & redirects by OffersByContext are caused by a rogue browser extension, which is classified as an Adware and appears to be distributed using some suspicious software bundles. The suspicious software bundles are set to install multiple software products, using default/express installation method and if the user didn’t opted-out to manual/experts installation, the install will proceed without his/her consent. Our malware experts warned us, that when activated the Adware will start showing lots of web ads, claiming to be “Brought by OffersByContext”, “Ads by OffersByContext”, “Brought to You by OffersByContext”, “Sponsored Ads by OffersByContext”, “OffersByContext Ads” or “Powered by OffersByContext”. If you are experiencing such issues, our security experts are recommending you to run a full system malware scan, using some up-to-date, reputable and reliable anti-malware product, just like the award-winning SpyHunter4.
Generally, users that have this Adware installed on their systems might see different pop-ups, banners, search suggestions, sponsored link advertisements displayed on popular pages. You might also see a little button referring you to similar products which will be offered by the PUP. The search results can also be altered, displaying information loaded with spam and third-party advertising.
OffersByContext is usually bundled with other free software products and is being installed by default when the user accepts the EULA while performing an express/recommended installation of that software. The possible distribution of OffersByContext varies but is not limited to – installing third-party toolbars, free software products, downloading e-mail attachments, clicking on ads or banners etc..
!!! Please note that these infections could potentially bring up other malware to your computer and even cause a loss of data. Please do not underestimate such threats.
